Directions to Construct the Staircase

1) The main staircase should be built in the following directions
     South
     West
     South-west corners

2) The staircase should raise only from these two directions
     East to west
     North to south

3) Staircases rising from these directions will be beneficial.
    South
    West
    South-west corner

It can be built from the south-east and north-west corners. But it may lead minor injuries to children.
A staircase on the north-east corner leads to loss of wealth
It should not be in the central square or the brahmasthan of the house

Useful Vastu Tips for Staircase

1) The uppermost staircases should have roof

2) There should not be a common staircase for upstairs and to the basement

3) The staircase should be in odd number. They should not end with 0 unit like 10, 20, 30 etc.

4) If there are doors in the staircase, then the upper door should be 9 to 10 inches shorter than the lower one.

5) The main staircase should neither originate from nor end in strong room, kitchen, wooden room or prayer room. It’s not good to keep safety lockers under the stairs.

6) Stairs should be painted in light colors

7) The staircase should always turn in clockwise

8) The ideal size of the staircase is 6” high and 10” deep

The Negative Effects

1) Do not keep your safety lockers under the staircases

2) If any part of the staircase is damaged, repair it at your earliest possible. This will lead to mental stress and quarrels.

3) A staircase in north-east corner will result in loss of wealth and business

4)The staircase should not encircle the building as it may lead to many calamities. The peace in the family may get disturbed. They also bring negative effects on health.

As per vaastu shastra, the staircase should always be in the negative zones like South-West, South or West part of the house.
If staircase is built in North-East corner, it will lead to chronic diseases among the house members.
Also, staircase should not be in center of the house.
